Well a while back I came up with a cartoonish style thing,I really like it.I also said in a journal or something it reminded me of something but I could't remember what, but I remembered. It reminds me of Panty and Stocking, which is funny because this is a cartoonish style and thats an anime,IDK. The way I came up with this style is I noticed in my anime drawings, the leg would kinds shoot out after the knee, and I drew my feet square.I decided I would just add a different head shape, and over exaggerate everything (like the incredibly small waste, and how the legs shoot out extremely after the knee) You can tell it's a cartoon because if this character was real, most likely her neck would't be able to support her head, and her feet would be to heavy to lift and walk.Well Hope you like it Oh and I almost forgot,I don't have a scanner so thats why it's just a picture of it,and you can tell I need more practice with the multiliners because my lines are wobbly in some places. It's really hard because it you mess up you just have to live with it,and you have to try to flick the pen to get that thick to thin line.
Made with white computer paper, copic multiliners, and crayola colored pencils
I can see you're leaning toward cartoonish, it's a nice style and I think it's very cute.
The shading is nicely done, not too much so it doesn't smother, but you can tell where light sources are within it.
Again, you might want to work on hands, since the finger aren't even. In fact in cartoon style, most people only make the hand have four finger, since it looks more cartoony.
Only thing you may want to consider is a different head style, since it's frequently used in animes. Cartoons typically use a geometric shape as a head base, like a circle, an oval, or even a triangle in one case.
Hey, if you want really good colored pencils that are easy to blend colors with, try Prismacolors, they're nice and bright, and if you get a blending pencil, you can make nice colors with just a basic set ^^
I heard of them before but these colored pencils are just something I use until I get my copic markers, but since I love colored pencils and crayons so much,I might invest in them next time Im getting art stuff
Hehe I understand, and if I did't know about them I would say thank you ^^ but from what I heard about them they sound good, but they also sound like they break easily because they have soft lead. But I imagine there lead is similar to crayola, but sharpening colored pencils are such a pain XD
Yeah that's true ^^ I actually kinda wanted to try crayon art after watching someones videos on youtube,I forgot her name but she draws anime and most of the time colors it in with crayons, and it's the coolest thing in the world...to me...you know because on the inside Im a 5 year old XD
I have the twist ones too, someone got me a small crayola crayon set,and it came with the twist crayons and a sketch book, but the paper in the sketch book is awful. It made a bad first impression on me cause when I tried the crayon on it,I had to push really hard to get color to come on the paper, and it gave it more of a pencil texture then a crayon... yes I just wrote that long comment just to tell you about bad paper XD
